Wonderful place for families. Welcoming, safe, fun and beautiful. They had kids crafts, welcoming pool, a slip n slide for the kids, a great kids clubhouse as well as an adult clubhouse that had a kitchen we could use. A bonfire every night. Plenty of restaurants nearby. A discount at the boat rental (only 2 blocks from the park). Had a great time teaching kids to fish. Knowledgeable staff recommendations.
The glamping tent far exceeded my expectations! Arrival was seamless, tents are so clean and come equipped with everything from cutlery and dish soap to ample bathroom supplies and extra linens. There is lots of space, and this was a great choice for “camping” with our baby who still needs a pack and play to sleep. The location is definitely far if you’re looking to spend your days in Yosemite, but we left early and arrived to the park entrance in 25 minutes. It was so fun to stay in Bass Lake in the off season when the water and air are still comfortable for swimming. The only thing is if you’re looking for a private campsite, the glamping tents are right next to one another and have almost no sound proofing. Luckily there were no other campers during our stay.
First time here, and it was for the 4th of july. My group and I booked our stay almost a year in advance. Arrived to being told we couldn't be together and they could not accommodate us. We ended up in 3 different places of the park as far separated as you can get, amongst 6 trailers. As a family, we do daily group meals and potlucking, and this made it a challenge. Quite a few of the spots are a challenge to get into and incredibly uneven. Having a golf cart is a must at this camp, which the many veteran repeat customers knew to bring. We unfortunately did not know. 1 of the bathroom facilities was out of order and the mosquito infestation was real! I came back looking like I had chicken pocks. There was also 2 bear sightings in camp during our stay. Getting to the lake is not convenient and you MUST drive to get to it. Prepare to pay $10 cash for parking for any public parking spots around the lake per day. We drove nearly 5 hours to come camp here and can't say it's a must go back to campsite on our list.
My wife and I stayed at a tent site here with our 9month old son for the very first time. Upon arrival we recognized the sites are very close together and somewhat small. Our site was roughly three spots away from a group tent site which had a large group of roughly 20-30 people staying. When we arrived around 1pm they had music playing on a large speaker. We said nothing at the moment but hoped it would not last. We left the campground and came back around 8pm with the music still blaring. Night 1: At quiet hours (10pm) the group decided to inflate a large projector screen to have all the kids watch a movie with the same loud speaker. At this point we were getting frustrated. Also, the security of the campground had passed this group multiple times without saying anything. At 10:30 my wife stopped security and asked if he could quiet down the group. He said he would try. It had little affect. I called in to complain about the noise a few minutes later. Again they sent the security guard and as I spoke with him he said, “I don’t know what you want me to do, I have been up since 5am and I’m tired, I didn’t even want this job I inherited it. Some people think quiet hour starts at 11. And I have already told them to be quiet.” Night 2: The large group had a TV with the Pay-Per-View Fight on (again blaring it for the whole campground to hear) along with the projector screen and a movie playing simultaneously. Thankfully it was shut off shortly after quiet hours. Instead they decided to listen to music, talk loudly, scream, and laugh all the way to 2:45am in the morning. I never saw the security vehicle that night (I think he avoided that side of the campground as it was clear he did not like confrontation from the conversation the night before). Other things to note: -Bathrooms could be very nice if cleaned. -Seems like most members dislike the new owners (as was mentioned in person and through other reviews) -Don’t expect any enforcement on rules being broken -Campsites and Trailer sites are small and stacked on each other. -We will never be staying at this campground again Other than that enjoy! I’m adding a star to make it a 2 star review as Kim (the manager) reached out to me after taking the email survey after our visit. She was willing to refund one of our nights.
This is our group’s 4th year staying at this RV park, but during that time it has changed ownership. It is clear they are making improvements to the park, including the 6 Premium Glamping Tents that were added this year (2024). Here are the top things you should know: 1. We continue to return to this park because you cannot beat the location. You can walk to The Pines Resort and Marina, and take a short drive to anywhere else you’d like to go, including Yosemite National Park or the Sugar Pine Mountain Railroad. 2. The amenities are nice, but be sure to check before you travel. 2 out of the 4 years we’ve come, the pool has been unavailable. They do a nice big bonfire on the weekends, but be sure to check what days it will be available, we’ve ran into maintenance issues before. The busy weekends like Memorial Day, Fourth of July, Halloween, they usually do fun events. 3. The booking process is a little crazy, and if you book online it seems like it is not connected to the office booking system. I suggest you call and book. 4. Some of the trailer spots are pretty tight, or on steep hills, so your time at the park can be pretty dependent on what spot you are assigned. The flatter spots are on Chipmunk and Raccoon or up in the top culdesac by the Luxury Tents. I do not believe you can choose your spot, but those are our preferences. 5. The cabins are great for families and most of them fit 4-5 people comfortably. They advertise bunk beds, but the top bunk is pretty high and I wouldn’t want to put a child up there. We used it mostly for storage. It can be a trek down to the fire pit and pool from the cabins on Bobcat, but overall still a good experience. There’s also one smaller cabin right by the pool that doesn’t have the bunk beds. 6. The Premium Glamping Tents are great! They are about the size of a hotel room, and have a decent size mini fridge, microwave, Kuerig, TV, and a spa-like bathroom. They have a queen bed, and two twin pull out beds. You have to play with the furniture arrangement to be able to pull the beds out at the same time, but once we figured it out, it worked great! The location in the park is perfect, there’s lots of space for big groups to hang. There’s a nice community seating area with a few picnic tables and a grill. They come fully stocked with cooking utensils, toiletries, towels, etc. and the patio is perfect for your morning coffee and a book. Hopefully this is helpful!
This place will never be what it was. This was our family annual camp site, where the highlight of our trip was the great customer service and the cleanliness of the place, especially the restrooms. This is not the case anymore. The company was recently bought by a corporation that has zero experience in camping/RV park, customer service, and their only concern is to make a profit. The restrooms are now disgusting. I’ve never seen anyone come in to clean them in 2 days. Previously, they would constantly come in to clean them. Also, in previous years, when we would do a reservation, we would get assigned spots, and now the reserved spots are no longer respected. They give away spots and now our family was spread out all over the camp site and when we asked the office, they said they didn’t know what happened. Everyone seems oblivious and don’t give you a straight answer. It saddens me to say our family will no longer be staying here for our annual camp trip. This place is a disgrace now.
I brought my family here for a vacation before the winter hits. We rented two 6 person cabins and they were super cute and cozy and had everything we needed (utensils, cutlery, kitchen appliances, towels, and extra bedding, and a full fridge) The weather was amazing and had a great time in the outdoors . I would do it again.
We stayed for two weeks in December. We really enjoyed our stay and had no issues while we were there. The park was only like 25% full, which is why we enjoyed our stay. If it had been full, we would have been quite disappointed because of how close the RV spots that are available to non members were. You are within walking distance to Bass Lake village and the lake itself. Although we did not stay during summer or fall, from reading other reviews this place is packed during those seasons. We would stay here again, but only in the off-season.
