Rockabilly Highway Murals Beckon in Tennessee!

Southwest Tennessee Tourism Association

In the heart of West Tennessee lies a stretch of road that’s more than just asphalt and white lines; it’s a journey through the soul-stirring melodies of Rockabilly. Welcome to the Rockabilly Highway, where every twist and turn tells a story and is adorned with vibrant murals celebrating the iconic genre.

Stretching from Memphis to Nashville, this legendary route takes travelers on a nostalgic trip back to the birthplace of Rock 'n' Roll. But what truly sets it apart are the captivating Rockabilly Highway Murals. Painted by Nashville artist Brian Tull to commemorate when US Highway 45 South was christened as “Rockabilly Highway,” the murals pay homage to McNairy County’s rockabilly roots and has become an inspiration to visitors and locals alike.
