The young lady at the front desk was very helpful and accommodating for our one night stay. I would say the advertisement for this hotel is a bit misleading. It is a very run down place. Upon entering our first room the TV was broken so we switched rooms, the 2nd room was alright until we looked at the beds, this is when we realized the sheets hadn't been changed. I went to the front desk for 2 new sets of sheets & pillows. Before showering I saw that the housekeepers had left half opened/used conditioner for us to use, there were only 2 towels for 4 people to use. The pool was closed for the season, would've been nice to know before booking. (Kids were disappointed) The breakfast wasn't that good, the only food my kids actually ate were the waffles. The biscuits were hard, gravy was so thick and wasn't good and the few potatoes that were left were dry and shriveled up. I won't be back when traveling through. There are nicer places to stay in Hot Springs.
DO NOT STAY HERE DO NOT STAY HERE DO NOT STAY HERE 1. We booked on hotels.com and our price was supposed to be $156 for two rooms. We were charged $240 instead and were told we only had one room booked, even though the email reservation clearly showed two rooms. When I contacted hotels.com to dispute the charges and get it corrected, they contacted the hotel who told us we booked 3 rooms and no-showed for the third (which doesn't make sense if we were there for our other two rooms...) and refused to refund us the over-charges or honor the price we booked at. 2. We asked for rooms with sofas if possible, as we have 4 kids and it's nice when they don't have to share beds. Get to the rooms and see that the pull-out sofa beds are wired closed with a note that if they are used we will be charged a $100 fee. WTH?! Why not just tell us that to start with instead of giving us rooms with sofas? Or better yet, move the sofas into your pool / storage area instead... 3. The pool is filled with mattresses and storage items. Their website says they have a pool, which is why we booked this hotel, but they have it closed. Don't be fooled. 4. Breakfast was mediocre at best. They ran out of food and coffee an hour before their posted breakfast time ended. They had biscuits and gravy but no biscuits. The milk they had was common use, not individual serve, so every stranger in the hotel was sharing the same gallon of milk. No decaf coffee. No tea other than bargain brand black and bitter green, which was very, very gross. 5. Water damage throughout the hotel, in ceilings and in exterior walls. It is not well maintained overall and very rundown. Your better bet is to drive the extra 45 minutes to Keystone and stay in one of the much nicer hotels there that actually has a great breakfast, nicely maintained building and an actual pool. And is actually close to some of the sites in South Dakota. This place will try to lure you in with a cheap price and then make up for it by overcharging you.
Room was comfy, but could use a good dusting, far as headboards and lamps. Advertise as having a pool, but looks like they're using the area for storage. Grand kids were not happy about that. Breakfast was good. The morning staff could use some help. She was having a hard time keeping up with stock and food in the breakfast area.
This hotel was recommended to us by one of the locals as we were travelling through. Huma who greeted us at the front desk was so pleasant and helpful. The room was very big with an extra room with a table and chairsx4 to eat and visit in. It was very clean. The breakfast was very nice fresh hot food. The staff friendly and helpful. I would definitely stay again. The room rates were very reasonable. Also there was a nice courtyard in the back of the hotel.
I wanted to thank Stay USA in helping my dear dad who is immobile with out his scooter. His apartment flooded and Hot Springs locals and staff of STAY USA, especially Heather, have been helpful and accommodating. Heather has informed me of my dad’s updates, departures, appointments with social workers, and more. It has made a stressful situation for everyone, especially my dad and the people around who help, a hopeful one. My dad says, “he’s been blessed with everyone’s help”, as have I. I hear STAY USA is located across the highway of the Mammoth Site and a good Mexican restaurant. That’s a nice, beautiful, convenient location, but I’m biased, because the Black Hills is the prettiest place in the west, IMO. Thank you.
Check in was smooth, not the lower price I was quoted on phone during reservation, but was reasonable. Room was clean and spacious. Bed was comfy, pillows were lumpy. A few minor things (peeling wallpaper in shower, missing/broken corner protectors in room) need to be addressed. Breakfast was hot and tasty. Had to request a receipt at checkout. Front desk person was in charge of breakfast items and area simulatiously due to staffing shortage. Door for breakfast area was propped open, was chilly in room making food get cold quickly.
After reading the reviews I'm shocked. We stayed in room 113 for 2 nights. Oct 17 and 18.|Check in was great, The young lady was friendly. We did not have reservations. Our rate was very reasonable. |Our room was clean, stocked. |King bed was OK. TV worked, bathroom was very clean, heater was working. |The room was comfortable. Ice machine worked, our microwave and fridge worked and clean.|We did not eat breakfast there so that I can't comment on. |Parking was good.|Reading the reviews here was definitely not our 2 night experience. |We would stay again.
When setting the reservation, I was told they had an indoor pool and the hours. Booked the room for the kids to swim during our stay. When I arrived, I was told the pool was drained a month or two prior to our visit. Beds were hard and not comfortable. Clerks were very respectful and nice.
