Outdoor recreation lovers enjoy taking a 35 mph ride on the refrigerated toboggan at Pokagon State Park that’s open weekends the day after Thanksgiving through the end of February. There also are extended weekday hours before and after Christmas. The toboggan holds up to four people and takes you on a thrilling ride down the ¼ mile track. It’s refrigerated so it doesn’t need snow to go! Pokagon features nine hiking trails, an interpretive nature center, cross country skiing and the beautiful Potawatomi Inn that overlooks Lake James.
