Why people come

Sip award-winning wines, world-class bourbon & craft beer on Bullitt County’s Wine, Whiskey & Ale Trail—plus music, golf, go-karts & scenic Bernheim Forest!

Enjoy the Bullitt County Wine, Whiskey & Ale Trail in Shepherdsville, Kentucky

Just 20 minutes south of downtown Louisville, Kentucky, join us for the unique experience our Bullitt County Wine, Whiskey & Ale Trail offers.

With four wineries boasting more than 1,000 national and international awards, it’s no wonder Bullitt County is known as the Wine Capital of Kentucky. You can truly taste the dedication and passion of our local wine makers – Brooks Hill, Wight Meyer, Crume Haven and Forest Edge wineries.

Bullitt County is also home to the James B. Beam Distilling Co., Four Roses Warehouse & Bottling and Coxs Creek Distilling Co. Come see how corn, rye and barley, combined with our area’s natural limestone-filtered water, come together to create some of the best whiskey in the world.

Bullitt County’s two craft breweries – Gallant Fox Brewing Co. and Salt River Brewing Co. – offer a wide selection of skillfully crafted beers, along with unique pub-style dining menus.

To start your spirit-rich journey, simply visit our website to get your free Wine, Whiskey & Ale Trail Passport. Visit at least five of the nine locations and receive a complimentary souvenir glass at Forest Edge Winery or the Bullitt County Visitor Center – both in Clermont.

During your visit, be sure to experience the natural beauty of Bernheim Forest, enjoy some great music at the Shepherdsville Country Music Show, tee off at Heritage Hill Golf Course, or rev up at Kart Kountry – the world’s longest go-cart track. There’s truly something for everyone.
