Cannonsburgh village is a charming little place with a lot of history to offer. One of the highlights of the village is the telephone switchboard in one of the cabins, complete with a bed for the operator to connect people to one another. It's a fascinating glimpse into how communication used to work in the past. The village also features a Grismill and offers a nice little walk through history. I also enjoyed the old tractors that are also on display in the village. Definitely worth a visit if you're in the area!
Went for their Christmas lights show. For a free show I enjoyed it. Would not drive from too far out since its only a few minutes long, but if you live here in town it's actually really nice!
Such a nice little step back in time-we really enjoyed a little travel back in history. Some of the buildings are a bit of a step, so walk carefully. But we really enjoyed it!
Fun sidetrack to explore. We arrived on a Monday, but it was closed and a man was sleeping at the entryway to the visitor's center. We went back on Wednesday and we were able to walk around the pioneer buildings. We had lots of questions, but there were no tour guides available. Would have liked to have seen more real life scenes and/or dressed characters. Something a bit more lively, maybe?
Great walk through past living conditions. Kind staff, simple layout but go at your own pace. Restrooms available across grounds & visitor center helpful & has cute items to purchase by locals. Oct 28 2023 will be Harvest Day fun, sorry to miss. Blacksmith wasn’t on staff and no guided tour but fun time w the kids and played checkers on the grounds!
Nice way to spend an afternoon. While the structures are of olden times, most buildings have been moved here from other places in Tennessee. It was educational to look inside the buildings to see how people lived, worked, and played back yonder. Plenty of parking.
Totally free 1880 old town experience, but if you enjoyed you should leave a tip, the woman was super friendly, she gave us a introduction, you will spent one hour to see all the buildings, its a clean place, they have outdoor tables to play chess, 5 stars
Cute little historical visit. They have fun seasonal activities. Our grandkids had a blast at the Halloween festival.
