It’s steep. I think if you’re really looking for steep pavement somewhere I bet there’s some very steep street here that’s steeper. But we had a good time running up and down the steep pavement. Then a homeless guy schizo guy started bothering us and we exited quickly.
We were recently in Nashville for my daughter’s college orientation. My mother-in-law mentioned this place to us and wanted to be sure we added it to the list of “things to do.” This is the hill she had to hike up (both ways) to and from school (in the snow). Wow. What a chore that must have been. We were all out of breath just doing it once. This is a must see in middle Tennessee.
When we first read about this attraction, we were skeptical that it would live up to expectations. Steepest pavement in middle Tennessee? In ALL of middle Tennessee? Right. I'll believe it when I see it. But when we pulled into the Marathon's parking lot, and we saw how steeply the pavement dropped off, we became converts. Truly a masterpiece of civil engineering, this attraction proves that the line between genius and madness is paper thin. WARNING: may be uncomfortable for those easily susceptible to altitude sickness.
Neat stop, but I think my driveway is just as steep. But I'm from Pittsburgh.
11/10 was so much better than I was anticipating!!! Cannot say enough good things about this place was truly an unexpected gem, I plan on coming back soon!!!
Can confirm: steepest pavement in Middle Tennessee. Visiting from Washington State, I know mountains and housing costs - this is steeper. And as a student of history, this is steeper than the casualties at Gallipoli. The Sherpa I met said not to waste my time on Mt. Everest; this was a more difficult climb. You MUST visit this landmark!!!!
After hiking the Appalachian Mountains and Mount Whitney I felt confident I could take on the steepest pavement in Tennessee. I competent the hike but boy was it one of the hardest things I've ever done. I feel amazing I was able to cross this off the bucket list, would recommend to anyone passing through middle Tennessee
This bucket-list hike proved to be an incredibly challenging experience, pushing my limits in ways I hadn't anticipated. Despite the difficulty, I wholeheartedly recommend this hike to anyone visiting Nashville. It's an adventure that will test your perseverance and leave you with a profound sense of accomplishment.
