When I first checked into the hotel I checked the beds including the pullout for cleanliness. Our pull out bed had cracker crumbs and hair in it. The staff member that checked me in immediately resolved the issue by changing the sheet. Later that evening we realized our room for 5 people only had 2 towel sets in it. I called and she immediately brought 5 clean sets of towels along with bedding for the pullout which was also missing from the room. Late into the evening we noticed gross cleanliness issues with the room. There was garbage under the pullout, wrappers and an empty water bottle. There was a pretzel under the bed skirt. The next day I told the staff as soon as we left the room. He said he would let the housekeeping manager know. When we returned the room had not been cleaned, but our dirty towels had been removed from the room. Next to the fridge was mold, mildew, and dust. Every time we went to the pool it was out of towels, we had to bring our room towels down or walk to the front desk dripping. They had towels at the front desk, apparently it was too much trouble to bring them to the pool area where they are needed. We were also told we couldn't leave the breakfast area with food, then the staff complained that we stayed in the breakfast area past 9 since we couldn't leave the breakfast area. Also the hot tub was out of order for the entire stay, I feel this should be removed as an amenity if it's out of order. Also the secure entrances were not locked at night, the locks were broken allowing free access to the building. There was 1 treadmill in the fitness center and it was broken and unsafe. This was absolutely the worst hotel experience I have had in over 15 years. It was not worth the money I paid. Overall the staff was unresponsive to concerns and there was never an onsite manager listed on the board to contact. Not only has this made me question La Quinta it has but I will steer clear of all Wyndham hotel group affiliated properties.
The price was right and it's close to Mayo so that's good. There were 2 cockroaches in my room, I was able to kill one. There were 2 plastic bags of garbage in the hall a few doors down that sat overnight, I think from the cleaning crew, pretty gross. Pretty cheap with toiletries, 1 tiny bar of soap to share between the sink and shower and 1 very small bottle of shampoo. Lobby bathroom was dirty and either someone threw up in the sink or rinsed their dishes in there, the toilet was broken, wouldn't flush at all. My husband noticed police at night chasing a homeless person out of the dumpster area. Next morning he noticed a homeless guy in the hotel on the first floor and another homeless guy eating the continental breakfast. My husband did some research and apparently this hotel gets money from the state and they open up a portion of rooms for the homeless. While it's a noble thing to offer sanctuary to these people especially in cold weather, how does this get them the real life changing help they need to get off the streets?
Rooms were large, but definitely dated. The carpet looked old and like it would fall apart. Shower pressure was good, beds were comfy enough. Issues we had: - certain areas of the hotel were F I L T H Y, like the bathrooms - front desk staff was almost always on their phone, either listening to a video out loud or taking calls on speaker. really bizarre - breakfast was cold and unappetizing. ran out of hot food at around 9am - laundry machine was broken - so many loud, screaming children! we visited in the middle of winter so not like it was summer or anything. we were woken up in the middle of the night by a child across the hall banging on our neighbor's door - parking lot wasn't shoveled or salted, so good luck getting into the hotel during winter (especially a MN winter!) Not a great experience and I can't recommend this hotel, especially for Mayo patients. Way too many little oversights and the price was not exactly budget.
Spacious but needs to be updated. Not enough bathroom supplies. Broken table lamp shade. The service desk person was not accommodating or friendly. I reported the lamp being broken right away and asked if they had a replacement since I was worried about it tipping over because it was heavy and had to have it leaning against the wall I barely finished explaining the situation and he cut me off and said (you're not getting charged for it.) Needless to say, we just dealt with it for our 2-night stay and he completely missed my point. My husband had to ask for a roll of toilet paper on our second day since we only had an almost empty role when we got there with no extra for 3 people on a 2-night stay. He was treated like he was bothering the front desk person for asking. The tub was broken. Breakfast was not good at all and very limited. No hot water, no decaf coffee. Will not stay here again if we have a choice.
In town for an appointment, won’t be staying again. • front desk woman wasn’t inviting or friendly •the room smelled clean however towels were stained • not enough bathroom supplies •pool was COLD •hot tub was CLOSED •the kids pool is missing a soft pad when you go down the slide and is hard when you land. •tv did not work •thin bed sheets •overheard another guest complain at the front desk Pros about the stay was they allow pets and it was fairly easy to take my dog outside and in to potty. Location was convenient because it’s close to Petco, Target and some restaurants!
We booked this location because it’s close enough to MAYO CLINIC yet far enough to be away from the city. If I could give the Rooms a 0 star and overall 1 star I would, just because the customer service was good. We booked 2 double queen rooms, 2 nights which we ended up switching to just 1 night. The room being clean was important for this visit. The first room was filthy. The sheets, walls, curtains, towels were stained to the point we didn’t even want to lay down in that room. We asked to switch rooms and luckily the customer service was great, they gave us a different room right away. The second room was also dirty and stained, luckily one of the beds was clean and we slept in that one. Customer service: good Overall hotel cleanliness: zero
I won't be booking at this hotel again. There is a large list of reasons why, but here are a few. 1. Broken furniture in the bedroom. The office chair in are room had parts of the arm rest missing from it. 2. The fridge was freezing things, and there was no way to adjust the temperature of it. 3. Rust on the bathroom door and hinges. 4. Tub didn't drain so while showering I was standing in water. 5. Both the kids pool and the hot tub were closed. This one made my kids and I really sad... I know it happens but those 2 features are what made me book the hotel. I would expect this type of stuff from a motel only charging 59.99 a night, but not a hotel. The staff was pleasant when I saw them though so that was good! No disrespect to the employees at this hotel. I won't be staying there again though.
This stay was a mixed bag, not terrible but not great either. We arrived for a late check-in after a 9 hour drive, having booked the room weeks in advance. The front desk clerk had a thick accent but was very helpful. Our first room looked nice and my wife was thrilled about the Keurig coffee maker but there was no bedding. The pillows and comforter were stacked on a chair, and the sheets weren’t even on the bed. I called the front desk, and they quickly offered us another room. I went down, grabbed new key cards, and we moved our luggage, my wife, and our puppy (who, we discovered, hates elevators) to a different floor. No big deal. The new room was actually an upgrade, bigger with a couch that pulled out into a bed but, to my wife’s dismay, no Keurig. I called again, and the clerk told me to come down to pick one up. It wasn’t a huge hassle, but after driving all day, I would’ve appreciated it being brought up instead. Still, we checked in late, and he was the only staff on duty, so I can’t complain too much. I've definitely had better Continental breakfast before and some fruit and more that 2 yogurt flavors would have been nice but it wasn't bad. All said and done, the stay was decent. One downside: the jacuzzi was drained and under repair, so off-limits. I spoke to the general manager before we left, mentioning we’d return in a couple of months for a week-long stay. I asked if he could offer a discount. He asked what we’d paid, said he’d call us back with an offer, but never did. It wasn’t a bad experience overall, just underwhelming in spots. We might’ve booked again, but we found another place with a kitchenette for our next trip. I’ll review that one after our next visit.
