Had a blast! I truly enjoyed it. I hadn't been to a powwow in over 30 years. It felt welcoming since my last powwow. Originally from Comanche County in Oklahoma. It was a part of growing up. Traveling to surrounding areas like Walter's or Anadarko. It was a great birthday 🥳 present 🎁 to see my child participate in what I used to do and compete in. Great times, awesome memories.
We decided to stay in Hopkinsville for our first anniversary, and this was our first stop. Amy welcomed us very warmly and gave us helpful and interesting information, which made our experience incredible! So appreciative of the genuine hospitality she showed us, she even took our picture in the Batter Bowl! The Trail of Tears Commemorative Park behind the building is a must-see as well.
This PowWow was fabulous. It's the first one I've been to in 6 years, and was far more intimate than that last one in Milwaukee. Although I participated in the Warriors Dance since I'm a vet, the most precious part of the ceremony for me was the Tiny Tots Dance. And for some reason, the tail feathers fascinated me. See pics. Well done event. Friendly people. And despite its small size, there was a decent amount of Native merchandise.
I had the BEST time here! The visiting center has lots of information and great displays of the towns local companies and history. If you forgot to get something from the local distilleries or just want a cute Hopkinsville souvenir this is the place to go! Another great thing about the visitor center is Amy! She is the office manager and LOVES Hopkinsville. Her love of Hopkinsville makes you love the town even more! I will always take my family and friends who visit here from now on!
Absolutely wonderful. The people were so friendly and excited to talk about the history of the Trail of Tears and the history of Hopkinsville. I would recommend this location to anyone.
Y'all need to get a little perspective on those old plaques around the place. Ideas of the naive, simple-minded, "civilized" native is not accurate. The things on display are biased and really just show your own racism, lack of knowledge, and unwillingness to educate yourselves in this area. Please update that place!
Friendly knowledgeable staff. Thank you for your welcome !
Clean, staff was super friendly
